Do water filter pitchers help with the taste of California water?

Yes it does. The filter in the water pitcher filters out most of the minerals, therefore making it tastes better.
You didn’t say which part of California you moved to, but in Los Angeles, you can really taste the chlorine. If you live in an older house with steel pipes, you can also taste the rust/minerals. It’s gross.
Bottled water is too expensive. Get a reverse osmosis filter that goes under your sink. You can get them for under $100.
You can also find the filter pitchers for a few bucks.

Yes they will help. I’m in the bay area (south bay) and my water isn’t too good, but my friend over in the East bay has nice tasting drinking water. You could always move to a different city…..:)-
My husband REALLY dislikes the water, so he went out an bought a water cooler, something like you would see in an office, but a small one meant for the home (it sits on our kitchen counter) and buying water at one of those filling places is really inexpensive!
