A study from the American Journal of Clinical Nutrition used data from a national health survey of over 12,000 Americans. The findings were "people who drank more 'plain water' tended to eat more fiber, less sugar and fewer calorie-dense foods." The lead researcher, Dr. Ashima K. Kant, pointed out that this does not prove that drinking more water leads to a healthier diet. But she did say the data suggests a connection between higher water consumption (instead of soft drinks and other beverages) and improved eating habits. Hey, good enough for me...gotta go drink some...

What is the difference between the Sprite Royal All-In-One Cartridge (ARC) and the Sprite Sprite Slim-Line Shower Filter Cartridge (SLC)? According to your website, these both fit my shower head, which is a Sprite AM8-CM. Good question. The Sprite PureSpray all-in-one and Sprite Royale all-in-one shower filters both work with either the SLC or the ARC cartridge. The ARC cartridge has more KDF and Chlorgon for a longer life (approximately 1/3 longer). It also has a straight through flow design, which gives it a perceptively higher flow (note, I have not done a measurement,...
Will the Sprite Shower Filter Remove Iron?

Iron can be a real problem in shower water. It can stain your shower fixtures and cause some really intense hair discoloration. KDF does reduce iron in water, but there are no standardized tests or results published for this. Many customers have used the shower filters we recommend for well water to reduce iron levels. If you have extreme amounts of iron, a shower filter alone won't be able to do the job. If the iron levels in your water are moderate to low, a shower filter can make a huge difference. Another common question: I really want to buy filtered shower heads for our bathrooms, but my husband is concerned about spray power. He doesn't want a wimpy spray. Is there a certain shower head that is a great filter AND doesn't sacrifice the spray pressure? Also, I really like the handheld ones (helpful when washing the dog) and would like to put one in at least one of our showers. Do you have a specific recommendation regarding the filter ability and spray pressure on handhelds also? Read More →
Will Backwashing my KDF Shower Filter Release Chlorine?

Here's a question about reversing the flow through a KDF shower filter, which is also called back washing. Will reversing the flow through my shower filter release chlorine into my shower water? Reversing the flow of water through a KDF shower filter does not release chlorine. With KDF, chlorine is transformed into harmless chlorides, which pass through the filter and go down your shower drain. The reason to backwash a filter is that the KDF granules will reposition as water flows in the opposite direction. The initial flow may wash out a small amount of solids, but more...
